Richard Elliot

The Scotland-born and L.A. raised saxophonist, multi-talented tenorman, composer and producer started his career by touring with the Pointer Sisters and Natalie Cole. He played for Smokey Robinson, the The Four Tops, the The Temptations and the Yellowjackets. He later toured and recorded with Melissa Manchester and Rick Springfield. He spent five years with the funk band Tower of Power and was part of two tours with Huey Lewis and the News. In 1986 he came out with his first solo release Trolltown, setting the stage for a successful solo career and recording 12 additional solo releases. Three of Richard Elliot’s friends have come together to bring one of the most successful tours in recent years to audiences worldwide: Jazz Attack features Elliot, the guitarist Peter White, the trumpeter Rick Braun and the singer/guitarist Jonathan Butler, who was on last year’s Hot Summer Nights tour with saxophonist Dave Koz. Elliot and Braun formed the label ARTizen Music Group, which released Elliot’s album Metro Blue and the current Rock Steady. He partici-pates in the current decade’s all-star tours like Groovin’ For Grover and Jazz Attack.
