Seit seiner frühesten Kindheit ist »Shilts« dem Saxophon verfallen. 11 Jahre lang Bandleader der populären Funk/Soul/Jazz-Band »Down to the Bone«, ist der gebürtige Londoner nun solo erfolgreich. Seine aktuelle CD heißt »Jigsaw Life«. Auf der Bühne und im Studio hat er u. a. schon mit Brand New Heavies, David Bowie, Beyonce, U2, Gloria Gaynor oder Jamiroquai performt.
